Trogir (włos. Traù) jest miastem portowym na wybrzeżu Morza Adriatyckiego, znajdującym się w środkowej Dalmacji, w okręgu Splicko-Dalmatyńskim w Chorwacji. Połączony podnoszonym mostem z wyspą Čiovo.
Starówka Trogiru wpisana jest na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa Kulturalnego i Przyrodniczego UNESCO od 1997 roku.
Założony w III wieku p.n.e. przez greckich kolonistów z wyspy Issa (dzisiejszy Vis) pod nazwą Tragurion (Kozia Wieś). Od tego czasu Trogir stał się znaczącym portem. W roku 304 cesarz Dioklecjan nakazał tutaj stracić biskupa Splitu Dujama za głoszenie wiary chrześcijańskiej. Od roku 1107 pod panowaniem węgierskim. W roku 1123 zniszczony przez Saracenów. Miasto odbudowano 70 lat później. Od 1420 pod panowaniem Weneckim.

Dla mnie jednak Trogir to przede wszystkim miejsce, gdzie w trakcie swojej autostopowej podróży spałam po raz pierwszy na plaży pod namiotem. I było to naprawdę niesamowite przeżycie, przy którym nawet to przepiękne miasteczko zbladło samo w sobie.

Herb Kolonii to trzy korony symbolizują Trzech Króli, których miejsce wiecznego spoczynku znajduje się w katedrze, natomiast jedenaście płomieni nawiązuje do świętej Urszuli, księżniczki brytyjskiej, która za przyjęcie chrześcijaństwa została zamordowana przez Hunów w 383. Czerwień i biel symbolizują przynależność miasta do Hanzy.
Do najważniejszych zabytków należy katedra św. Piotra i NMP (St. Peter und Maria) z 1248–1880 (na liście światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO) jedna z największych świątyń gotyckich ze zbudowanymi w XIX wieku wieżami o wysokości 157 metrów i szczególnie cennym średniowiecznym prezbiterium. Wewnątrz znajdują się cenne zbiory sztuki średniowiecznej m.in. relikwiarz Trzech Króli, Madonna Mediolańska, Krucyfiks Gerona, Ołtarz Trzech Króli dzieło Stephana Lochnera. Tutaj też spoczęły prochy królowej Rychezy.

1278. Litwa

Wkrótce po bitwie pod Grunwaldem zamek w Trokach zaczął tracić swoje znaczenie wojskowe. Dawna twierdza została przekształcona w rezydencję książęcą i bogato udekorowana wewnątrz. Do Trok przyjeżdżali zagraniczni posłowie, w 1414 zamek opisał flamandzki podróżnik Guillebert de Lannoy. W zamku kilkakrotnie gościł Władysław Jagiełło, zaś Witold zmarł na terenie zamku w 1430. Dziesięć lat później w twierdzy został zamordowany jego brat Zygmunt. Pod rządami Zygmunta Starego i Zygmunta Augusta obiekt został przebudowany w stylu renesansowym i przeszedł kolejne prace adaptacyjne w celu przekształcenia w letnią rezydencję. Czasowo pełnił również funkcję więzienia. W czasie wojen z Moskwą został zrujnowany, a z odbudowy zrezygnowano.

Alpy Japońskie (jap. 日本アルプス Nihon Arupusu) to wspólna nazwa dla trzech łańcuchów górskich w Japonii, rozciągających się równolegle wobec siebie, południkowo, w środkowej części wyspy Honsiu.
Mają one kilkanaście szczytów o wysokości przekraczającej 3 000 m. Najwyższe są szczyty Kita (3193 m n.p.m.) i Hotaka (3190 m n.p.m.)
Nazwa Alpy Japońskie została nadana przez Williama Gowlanda, zwanego ojcem japońskiej archeologii i później spopularyzowana przez wielebnego Waltera Westona (1861–1940), angielskiego misjonarza, którego tablica pamiątkowa znajduje się w dolinie Kamikochi. Pierwotnie Gowland nazwał tak jedynie góry Hida, później nazwa została rozciągnięta na pozostałe dwa pasma.
Na zdjęciu fragment pasma Środkowych Alp Japońskich (jap. 中央アルプス Chūō-Arupusu), czyli gór Kiso (jap. 木曽山脈 Kiso-sanmyaku), które w całości znajdują się w prefekturze Nagano.

Elba to trzecia co do wielkości włoska wyspa, położona na Morzu Tyrreńskim, między Półwyspem Apenińskim a Korsyką. Jest to także największa z Archipelagu Wysp Toskańskich, chociaż jej powierzchnia wynosi zaledwie 224 km².
W maju 1814 na Elbę zesłany został Napoleon Bonaparte, który przebywał na wyspie do lutego 1815 wraz z resztkami swoich oddziałów - Gwardii cesarskiej (w skład wchodziły batalion grenadierów i szwadron lansjerów). Oddziały te stały się zalążkiem nowej armii napoleońskiej.

Ural oddziela Nizinę Wschodnioeuropejską na zachodzie od Niziny Zachodniosyberyjskiej na wschodzie. Południowy Ural graniczy z wyżyną Obszczyj Syrt na zachodzie i z Płaskowyżem Turgajskim na wschodzie. Południowe przedłużenie Uralu stanowi pasmo gór niskich Mugodżary, a dalej na południe - płaskowyż Ustiurt.
Wschodnim podnóżem Uralu Międzynarodowa Unia Geograficzna poprowadziła granicę między Europą i Azją.
Klimat o cechach kontynentalnych, na północy subpolarny, na południu umiarkowany. Opady od 500 mm na wschodnich zboczach, do 800 mm na zachodnich. Na północy niewielkie lodowce (o łącznej powierzchni około 25 km²). Zbocza rozcięte przez liczne rzeki należące do dorzeczy Wołgi, Obu, Uralu i Peczory. Na wschodnich zboczach niewielkie jeziora: Tawatuj, Argazi, Turgojak i inne. Roślinność na północy jest tundrowa, ku południu przechodzi w lasy iglaste (tajga) i liściaste. Na samym południu występują lasostepy i stepy.
Ural posiada bogate złoża mineralne: żelazo, miedź, chrom, mangan, nikiel, boksyty, złoto, platynę, węgiel kamienny, węgiel brunatny, ropę naftową, sól kamienną, sól potasową, kamienie szlachetne, azbest i inne.

Twer (ros. Тверь, w 1931-1990 Калинин - Kalinin) to miasto obwodowe w Rosji, port nad Wołgą, przy ujściu Twercy. W średniowieczu był stolicą samodzielnego udzielnego księstwa (Księstwo twerskie).
Wiosną 1940 NKWD wymordowało w swojej siedzibie w Twerze około 6300 polskich funkcjonariuszy Policji Państwowej, Korpusu Ochrony Pogranicza, Straży Więziennej, żołnierzy Żandarmerii Wojskowej i innych więźniów z obozu w Ostaszkowie, następnie pogrzebanych w zbiorowych mogiłach nieopodal miejscowości Miednoje.

Obecnie Kuala Lumpur to jedno z najszybciej rozwijających się miast Azji Południowo-Wschodniej, z przyrostem gospodarczym powyżej 10% w skali rocznej. Nad centralną dzielnicą miasta wznoszą się wysokie i nowoczesne wieżowce. Miasto boryka się jednak z poważnymi problemami komunikacyjnymi i mimo wybudowania kilku obwodnic ruch kołowy paraliżowany jest przez korki. System transportu publicznego również nie jest rozwinięty należycie do potrzeb miasta.
Miasto rozbudowywane jest bez ładu architektonicznego. Obok centralnej dzielnicy miasta z autostradami i wieżowcami, znajdują się dzielnice zamieszkane przez Chińczyków z tradycyjnymi domami i wąskimi uliczkami.
Najbardziej znaną ulicą miasta jest Dataran Merdeka, przy której znajduje się gmach Sądu Najwyższego i odbywają się coroczne uroczystości z okazji dnia niepodległości Malezji, transmitowane przez telewizję na cały kraj. W 2003 roku święto niepodległości obchodzono również na ulicy Putrajaya.
Architektów zachęca się do łączenia tradycyjnych stylów azjatyckich i nowoczesności. W taki sposób powstały będące dumą Kuala Lumpur wieżowce: Dayabumi Building (pierwszy drapacz chmur w Malezji), Tabung Haji Building, Menara Telecom (powstały dzięki pracy lokalnego architekta Hijjasa Kasturi) i znane na całym świecie bliźniacze wieżowce Petronas Towers.

Saffron Walden to miasto we wschodniej Anglii w hrabstwie Essex.
Położone 19 kilometrów na północ od Bishop Stortford i lotniska Londyn Stansted oraz 24 kilometrów na południe od Cambridge. Liczba mieszkańców przekracza 15 000 osób. Miasto słynęło w XVI i XVII wieku z uprawy na skalę przemysłową szafranu (krokusów, ang. Saffron).
Prócz ruin zamku i hotelu "Cross Keys" zbudowanego w 1375 roku do głównych zabytków miasta należy kościół parafialny pod wezwaniem św. Marii (St. Mary), zbudowany w latach 1470-1525.
